Jobs available in northern beaches healthcare and disability services

A NUMBER of job opportunities are available in the healthcare and disability services sectors on the northern beaches.

Recruitment provider Healthcare Australia said vacancies were thick on the ground in the peninsula's health sector.

Recruitment manager Christine Lingard said in nursing alone 10 positions in the region were available every month.

"Our clients currently have a demand for healthcare workers in the northern beaches region," she said.

"(They) have a need for general, medical surgical nurses and midwives in Mona Vale and Manly.

"There is also a need for aged-care workers and theatre nurses in day surgeries in Warriewood and Warringah."

Lyn Hopper, Manly branch president of the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association, said she knew of a dozen vacant positions at Manly Hospital and Mona Vale Hospital.

People were also in demand to fill positions in disability services on the northern beaches.

Sunnyfield chief executive Caroline Cuddihy said the service, which supports people with a disability, had a number of openings.

People were needed for support worker, administration, management and supervisory roles.

She encouraged people to consider a career in the sector.

"You can really make a difference in someone's life," she said.

"You can walk home with a smile on your face, knowing you've contributed."
