Glass Floors

Glass floors are an amazing concept and can be a breathtaking design choice, but there are several factors a person has to consider before going all out and having that beautiful glass floor installed in their home or place of business.

What is Under the Floor? Installing a glass floor on the first floor of a home or office building does not provide extra light for the room, as a glass floor would if installed as a second or third level floor. It can be a creative flooring choice even for a first floor if you want to use a lot of exposed beams in your interior decorating and choose to showcase your wooden floor beams. Another creative use is to utilize glass flooring in the garden to showcase a sunken flower bed of sorts.

Still, glass floors are usually utilized on second story floors or higher. This allows people to look from the top floor to the floor below, to show off a swimming pool or a decorative lobby, and to give more lighting to the floor below, helpful for family rooms. If more privacy is desired, you can choose to have the glass frosted. It can be done in a decorative pattern, or as just a soft glaze all the way across, providing diffuse light to the floor below while allowing them some more privacy.

Some Downsides Glass floors are made of glass-they can scratch and chip over time, leaving unsightly blemishes on your flooring. Also, some glass floors are not rated as ?fire safe'. You can ask the company that you are having instill your floors whether the glass they have is treated to meet current fire safety standards. If not, you may want to consider other flooring options, or another flooring company to maintain the integrity of your home or office.

The Bright Side Glass floors have the look-sleek, modern, and sophisticated they can bring any home or office into the new century. It is also incredibly easy to match decoratively. You can fit glass flooring with a vintage fainting couch just as easily as you could with a minimalistic modern omni chair. You can also bring a sense of continuity to your space's overall design by literally bringing two rooms together. Having a glass floor can also give you an opportunity for better lighting and a sense of more space, making the design possibilities with glass floors limitless.
